Police have arrested the news editor of private television channel Gtv allegedly for torturing his wife.
Later, a Dhaka court has granted a one-day remand to Rakibul Islam alias Mukul, 37, after Investigation Officer SI Masud Parvez produced him before the court on Saturday afternoon.
The court also rejected the bail petition filed by Mukul's lawyer, said General Recording Officer of CMM court Moshiur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune.
Mukul was arrested in a case filed by his wife Naznin Akhter Tonni, a senior reporter at Bangla daily Dainik Janakantha, for torturing her.
