DB DC (south) Mashrukur Rahman Khaled confirmed to the Dhaka Tribune that they had recovered the bag with all its belongings, including the ambassador's mobile phone, notepad and some important documents.
Detectives arrested Shawon, left-centre, and Rubel, right-centre, in connection with the Dutch ambassador's handbag stealing Dhaka Tribune"Two people have been arrested in this connection," said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
They were detained in a raid conducted on Wednesday morning at Shanir Akhra in Dhaka. The detainees are identified as Rubel, accused of stealing the bag, and Shawon, who helped Rubel.
A case was filed with Shahbagh police station hours after the incident took place.
