The house of Nazimuddin Alam, international secretary of Bangladesh National Party (BNP) and former MP from Bhola-4, was ransacked on Wednesday night.
Sources said a group of Awami League activists besieged the house of the BNP leader at Sharif Para under Charfashion upazila around 9pm when he was on the meeting with local BNP men.
Later, AL men ransacked house, torched 12 vehicles and cut off power line of it.
On information, firefighters went to the spot and doused the fire.
Abul Basar, officer-in-charge of Charfashion police station said police brought the situation under control within few minutes of the incident.
No case was filed in this connection, said the OC.
