A school boy, who was abducted from the capital on Thursday, was rescued from Padmar Mor on Daulatdia-Khulna highway in Goalando upazila of Rajbari district yesterday morning.
The rescued was identified as Jihadul Islam, 10, son of Ziaur Rahman, a resident of Baten Nagar area of Mirpur Darus Salam Mazar road of the capital and a class V student of Notunkuri Adarsha Bidya Nikaton.
Earlier, a gang of miscreants dragged Jahidul into a microbus by force while he was playing with friends at a field of Gabtali area on Thursday noon and left him alone at Tenapacha road diversion on
Daulatdia-Khulna highway in Goalando around at 4am yesterday, according to the victim.
Sub-Inspector of Goalando police station Sirajul Islam said the driver of a Gazipur-bound covered-van handed the boy over to sergeant Helal after rescuing him from the area.
