Police have arrested a youth from the capital’s Paltan for his posts on social media instigating people’s religious sentiments.
The detainee is SM Shakhawat Hossain, Assistant Commissioner of DMP Hasan Arafat told the Dhaka Tribune.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police, in a drive, nabbed Shakhawat from the capital’s Purana Paltan on Tuesday night, the police official said.
“The arrestee Shakhawat was trying to create chaos between Muslims and Buddhists through his posts on Facebook and online,” said the police official.
Details will be revealed at a press briefing later in the day.
