Police have arrested the mastermind of the alleged gang rape of an 18-year-old housewife in Dhaka’s Rampura. The arrestee is Md Nayeem, 24, who led a gang of eight to 10 young men, including Md Shariful Islam, 23, and Abdur Rahman, 18, who were arrested earlier.
Investigation officer of the case Alamgir Bhuiyan of Rampura police station confirmed the arrest to the Dhaka Tribune.
On Saturday, the victim was visiting her aunt in West Rampura when the rapists forced into the house and violated the girl while keeping her husband and aunt confined in another room. The victim’s husband filed a rape case with the Rampura police station the same day.
