A faction of ruling party’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Chittagong University (CU) unit has formed a human chain demanding immediate arrest and trial of all assailants of Tapos Sarker.
Tapos Sarkar, a BCL man also a 1st year student of Sangskrit department of CU, was shot dead during a turf war between CU shuttle train based two BCL factions—Varsity Express (VX) and Choose Friend with Care (CFC) at Shah Amanat hall on December 14 in last year.
Both the groups were backed by (AL) president ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, said campus sources.
Campus sources said around 50 to 60 CFC men formed the human chain holding posters and banners at Shahid Minar premises at CU at around 2pm on Saturday.
At the rally the CFC men alleged that despite a number of months have been gone after the murder, police yet to arrest the prime accused including VX leader Asrafuzzaman Asha and former CU BCL organising secretary SM Arifur Islam.
The CFC leaders also demanded exemplary punishment to the killers of Tapos Sarkar.
Earlier the CFC and VX men had hold several human chains and counter programme claiming Tapos was their activist.
Following the murder, Tapos’s classmate one Hafizul Islam filed a murder case accusing 55 persons mentioning 30 BCL activists name.
