Update : 22 May 2015, 12:14 PM

An indigenous woman has been gang-raped by unknown miscreants in a running microbus on different streets of the capital's Kuril Biswa Road area.

The victim, aged about 21 years, works as sales girl at a shop in Jamuna Future Park.

Quoting the victim, a family member said: “She left her workplace for house in the capital's Uttara area around 9pm on Thursday. Two people suddenly swooped on her and forcefully pushed her inside a grey-coloured microbus around 9:25pm while she was standing on the Biswa Road bus stand for a bus.

“Later, five criminals, including the driver of the microbus, violated her on the running vehicle and threw her out of it in Uttara area around 11pm.”

Wishing anonymity, the victim added that she could not recognise any of the rapists as they were completely unknown to her.

Later, the victim filed a complaint with Bhatara police station over the incident.

While contacted, Sazzad Hossain, Inspector (Investigation) of Bhatara police station told the Dhaka Tribune: “Investigation is underway. As the criminals are completely unknown and the police do not have any clue about their identities, it will take some time to find out the miscreants.

“The medical examination of the victim will be conducted Saturday. After that we will fix our next course of action.”
