A Swechchasebak League leader has been hacked to death by miscreants at Charomba union under Lohagora upazila in Chittagong.
Charomba union Jamaat president Shamsuzzaman Helali and Jamaat activist Md Afsar were detained in connection with the murder.
Deceased Kamal Uddin, 22, was president of Charomba union unit of Swechchasebak League.
Lohagora OC Md Shahjahan said miscreants swooped on Kamal while he was returning home around 10pm Thursday, leaving him seriously injured.
He was rushed to Lohagora upazila health complex where he died of his injuries around 11:30pm.
A case was filed with the police station in this connection, said the OC.
