A Dhaka court yesterday sentenced two people to death and another to life-term imprisonment for killing an old couple in Faridpur in 2013.
The convicts are Md Sujon Bepari and Md Nazrul Islam.
Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal 4 Judge ABM Nizamul Haque passed the order on Tuesday afternoon.
The court also fined Tk20,000 Mir Muhammad Tanvir Rahman alias Khosru, who was handed down life term imprisonment.
Earlier, Khosru along with the other two criminals slaughtered Mir Shamsul Haque and his wife Nargis Nahar over family dispute in October 2013.
Mir Kamrul Ahsan Masud, son of the deceased, filed a murder case with Kotwali police station on the next day of the murder.
RAB 8 Senior ASP Md Kamal Uddin also the investigation officer of the case submitted charge sheet against the criminals on February 20, 2014.
After cross-checking witnesses and examining documents the court gave the verdict against the convicts.
