Earlier on April 2, the investigation officer of the case and Sub-Inspector (SI) of Mohammadpur Police Station Mominul Islam submitted a petition seeking to have the accused shown arrested. The court set April 6 for hearing in presence of R S Fahim Chowdhury.
The plea said that evidence of Fahim’s involvement in the incident has been found, making it necessary to show him arrested in the case.

On 30 March, he was shown arrested in a murder case filed with Gulshan Police Station in connection with the July movement and sent to jail.
According to the case statement under which Fahim was shown arrested on Monday, on 19 July 2024, around 3pm, the complainant Masud Hossain joined a student-mass protest in front of the RAB quarters in the Bosila area.
At that time, the accused allegedly carried out an armed attack on the protesters to foil the peaceful programme, during which Masud was injured. He was later admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.
After recovering, the complainant filed the case with the court, naming 175 accused, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
