The prosecution has filed an application with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) seeking to show retired Lt Gen Masud Uddin Chowdhury and Lt Gen (retd) Sheikh Mamun Khaled as arrested in a case before the tribunal.
Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim confirmed the development on Sunday.
According to prosecution sources, the application has been submitted to International Crimes Tribunal-2 and is likely to be heard later in the day.
Both former military officials are currently in custody in connection with separate cases.
Lt Gen (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury was arrested on March 24 in a human trafficking and fraud case filed with Paltan Police Station in the capital. He faces allegations of human trafficking and document forgery. Police said a total of 11 cases have been filed against him.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen (retd) Sheikh Mamun Khaled, former director general of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), has also been arrested. He was earlier placed on a five-day remand in a murder case linked to the July 2024 incidents.
The prosecution is seeking to include both individuals in the tribunal proceedings as part of the ongoing investigation.
