Update : 26 May 2025, 07:52 PM

The International Crimes Tribunal-1 has issued formal summons to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and a co-accused, ordering them to appear before the court on June 3 to respond to charges of contempt.

The notice was issued under the directive of Registrar ASM Ruhul Imran on behalf of the tribunal on Sunday.

The notice, issued under Section 11(4) of the International Crimes (Tribunals) Act, 1973 and Rule 45 of the tribunal's procedures, follows their failure to appear or submit any response to earlier notifications.

The second accused, Shakil Akand Bulbul, 40, hails from Gaibandha.

The tribunal warned that failure to appear on the stated date will result in proceedings taking place in absentia.

The petition was filed by the chief prosecutor.
