The High Court on Tuesday asked the Election Commissioner to register the Bangladesh Minority Janata Party (BMJP) as a political party.
The bench of Justice Sashanka Shekhar Sarkar and Justice AKM Rabiul Hassan passed the order after hearing a petition.
Advocate Tajul Islam and Advocate Omar Faruk stood for the petitioner while Advocate Muntasir Mahmud represented the Election Commission.
Earlier, a writ petition was filed challenging the EC’s decision not to register BMJP as a political party.
