The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has officially shown the arrest of 13 individuals, including former ministers and advisers of the Awami League government, in connection with the atrocities of July-August.
The 13 arrestees include former law minister Anisul Huq, Faruq Khan, Dr Dipu Moni, Shajahan Khan, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haque Inu, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Salman F Rahman, Dr Taufiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury, Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, Golam Dastgir Gazi, retired justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik and former home secretary Jahangir Alam.
Dr Abdur Razzaque was not produced before the tribunal due to illness, according to reports.
All the accused had previously been in jail in connection with other cases.
The three-member tribunal, headed by Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder, issued the arrest order on Monday.
The panel also includes Justice Md Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Judge Md Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam and other prosecutors were present during the tribunal proceedings.
This development follows an earlier directive issued on October 27 by the same tribunal, ordering the production of the accused individuals.
The case continues to draw significant attention as the tribunal investigates allegations surrounding the massacre, with further proceedings anticipated in the coming weeks.
