High Court scraps six cases against BNP leader Anee

The cases, which were filed in 2010, included obstruction of police duties, vandalism, and arson charges

The High Court has scrapped the proceedings of six cases filed in 2010 against BNP leader Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee.

Anee's lawyer, Md Kamal Hossain, confirmed the news on Thursday saying that after the hearing on a rule issued by the court regarding the cancellation of the cases, a High Court bench comprising Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain delivered their verdict on Wednesday.

These cases involved charges including obstruction of police duties, vandalism, and arson.

During the proceedings, lawyer Kamal represented the petitioner, with lawyer Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan assisting.

The cases filed in 2010 included five cases at Shahbagh police station and one at Dhanmondi police station.
