The International Crimes Tribunal has issued arrest warrants for former DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman Habib and 16 other former police officers in a case filed over allegations of genocide during the July-August uprising.
A bench consisting of three judges led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza, chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal, issued this order.
Chief Prosecutor Md Tajul Islam filed a request for their appearance in the tribunal.
Earlier, on October 17, the International Crimes Tribunal issued arrest warrants for 46 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader, in separate cases regarding the genocide and crimes against humanity that occurred in July-August.
