A Dhaka court on Wednesday sent former Jatrabari police station officer-in-charge (OC) Inspector Mazharul Islam to jail.
Mazhar was arrested on September 17 in connection with a case filed over killing a madrasha student during the student movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mosharraf Hossain passed the order as Mazhar was produced before the court upon completion of his five days remand.
Madras student Arif, suffered critical bullet wounds in his eye on July 19 at Kutubkhali area under Jatrabari thana area.
As he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on-duty doctors pronounced him dead.
Arif’s father Md Yusuf filed the murder case with Jatrabari police station to this end.
