A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking the cancellation of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha's (Rajuk) "illegal" allotment of plots, including a 60-katha plot in Purbachal, in the names of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.
The writ, submitted on Tuesday by 10 Supreme Court lawyers, claims that Sheikh Hasina had been allotted plots in her name within the Purbachal New City project.
Her son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, younger sister Sheikh Rehana, and two of Rehana's children also received plots, according to the petitioners.
Speaking to reporters, petitioner and Supreme Court lawyer Mohammad Misbah Uddin said: "The matter was marked as a state top secret. As a result, only a few officials are aware of it, with many in Rajuk being kept in the dark."
The writ also calls for action under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act against those involved in the allocations.
Additionally, it seeks the formation of a three-member committee, led by a former High Court judge, to investigate the allotments.
The petitioners include Misbah Uddin, Md Rezaul Islam, Al Reza Md Amir, Md Golam Kibria, Mohammad Harun, Md Belayet Hossain Soja, Kamrul Islam Reagan, Hasan Mahmud Khan, Shahinur Rahman Shaheen, and Md Zillur Rahman.
