Student movement: Bail granted to 3 HSC candidates

They will soon be released from prison and return to their families

Three HSC examinees in police custody have been granted bail with the assistance of the Ministry of Education.

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka granted their bail on Thursday, according to a notice issued by the Ministry of Education.

They will soon be released from prison and return to their families.

The Ministry of Education has requested information on any other candidates in similar situations.

Earlier, Law Minister Anisul Huq informed that instructions have been given to the state party to arrange for the quick bail of any Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinees who have been detained in various places across the country in connection with the violent situation surrounding the quota reform movement.

The law minister provided this information to journalists on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has reported that three HSC examinees have been detained so far.

In a notice on Thursday, the Ministry of Education stated that lawyers have been appointed to provide legal assistance to the three HSC examinees in police custody.

The notice mentioned that, according to the information received so far, the Ministry of Education has appointed lawyers to provide legal assistance to the three HSC examinees in police custody.
