A Dhaka court on Thursday granted bail to BNP Vice Chairman Altaf Hossain Chowdhury in a sabotage case filed with Ramna Model police station.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sultan Sohag Uddin of Dhaka court passed the order after a hearing in the afternoon.
The defendant's lawyer Taherul Islam Towhid confirmed the matter.
Earlier on Sunday, he was granted bail in two separate cases filed with the Ramna model police station.
However, he is in jail because he was convicted in the case of the attack on the residence of the Chief Justice and in another case.
RAB picked up Altaf Hossain Chowdhury from Uttara in the capital on November 4. Later, the law and media wing of the RAB headquarters informed that Altaf Hossain was arrested from Tongi area on charges of assault, sabotage and violence at the residence of the Chief Justice.
On November 5, the court rejected Altaf Hossain Chowdhury's bail application and ordered him to be sent to prison. He has been in prison ever since.
