A Sainik League leader Mahabur Rahman aka Maham apologized in court for threatening independent candidate for Rajshahi-1 constituency actor Mahiya Mahi via a Facebook video.
He appeared before the Election Inquiry Committee's Chairman and Rajshahi Joint District and Sessions Judge (Second Court) Md Abu Sayeed on Wednesday and admitted his mistake, and sought forgiveness.
During this time he responded to the show-cause notice through his lawyer
After the hearing, Maham also acknowledged his mistake to the press and apologized to Mahiya Mahi through the media.
Court official Md Sahabuddin Sohag confirmed these details and said: “The court sternly warned Maham against repeating such actions in the future.”
