Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's counsel Advocate Matiur Rahman Akand on Sunday said that there is no opportunity to ban Jamaat's politics.
He said: "Even if Jamaat's appeal against the cancellation of registration is rejected, the party will have the opportunity to do normal politics according to the constitution."
He told this to journalists after the order dismissing Jamaat's appeal against the deregistration verdict on Sunday.
According to Advocate Matiur Rahman Akand, the Appellate Division has declared the appeal against the High Court's ruling in the Jamaat-e-Islami registration case dismissed for default.
The appeal will therefore not be scheduled for a hearing.
“The Supreme Court resolved this case on Sunday. In light of the upcoming directive from Jamaat-e-Islami, we will pursue legal action in this regard,” he added.
He concluded that Jamaat politics will inevitably persist.
