Chowdhury was picked from a flat in Gulshan in the wee hours of Friday, while Swapan too was detained from Gulshan last night.

Constable Pervej, 32, was brutally killed allegedly by the leaders and activists of BNP during their grand rally in capital's Naya Paltan area on October 28.

Paltan Police Station sub-inspector Masuk Miah on October 29 filed the case against 164 people, making BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam as the prime accused.

Several top BNP leaders have been arrested or held in the last few days, as the party looks to intensify its movement to oust the government from power.

Law enforcement arrested four people, including BNP Dhaka North Member Secretary Aminul Haq, in Gulshan in the early hours of Thursday and detained BNP Media Cell Convenerr Jahir Uddin Swapan later in the day.

Before that came BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas and Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal’s arrest late on Tuesday, following Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s detention on Sunday morning.
