Comparing corruption to cancer, Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique on Sunday said there will be no compromise when it comes to irregularities in the judiciary.
“Corruption is like cancer. If there is cancer in a finger, it has to be cut off – the same principle also applies for corruption,” remarked the newly-appointed top judge at a reception accorded to him on the Supreme Court premises.
He talked about eliminating corruption from the judicial system and improving coordination between lawyers and justices.
Besides, the chief justice called upon all state agencies to cooperate with the judiciary to help it function better.
Hasan Foez Siddique, a former judge of the Appellate Division, took his oath of office on Friday to become the chief justice of Bangladesh.
