Pori Moni served legal notice to remove inappropriate photos, videos

Notice asks the actor to refrain from posting contents on social media

Dhaliwood actor Shamsunnahar Smriti, better known as Pori Moni, has been issued a legal notice asking her to remove all inappropriate pictures and videos from social media sites within the next 30 days. 

The notice, issued on Monday by two Supreme Court lawyers, also says the actor must refrain from posting all kinds of photos and videos containing obscene dialogues, performances and gestures.

Supreme Court lawyer Khandaker Hasan Shahriar and Dhaka Judge Court lawyer Ismatullah Lucky Talukder sent the notice on Monday.

The popular actor, who has over 15 million followers on Facebook, is facing a number of charges filed over the seizure of liquor and several blotting papers for LSD, a hallucinogenic drug, from her house during a raid by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on August 4. RAB also arrested her associate, producer-director Nazrul Raz.

In July, she came to light after accusing a real estate businessperson of attempted murder and rape at Dhaka Boat Club. She was remanded several times in the cases, which caused outcry over the abuse of law by a lower court judge.

On the basis of allegations of unprofessional conduct with actor Pori Moni during an investigation, the authorities Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Md Golam Saklain Shithil was removed from the Gulshan Division of Detective Branch (DB).

She finally received bail on August 31 and was released from the prison the next day after nearly a month in detention.

Her indictment in the drugs case has been deferred till January 2.

On the other hand, a Dhaka court on December 13 took into cognizance the chargesheet in the case filed by the actor over attempted rape and murder against three people, including businessman Nasir U Mahmood and his associate Tuhin Siddiqui Omi.
