Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Khawaja Tanveer Ahmed has filed a general diary over an alleged death threat made against him.
The GD was filed at Mohammadpur police station on Tuesday night.
He also said that he is a member of a panel of lawyers for Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus.
The lawyer mentioned in the GD that he received a phone call around 8pm on Tuesday. He called back at 8:37pm and the person on the other side said that he would first talk about a family case.
But at one point he hurled abuses at him and threatened to kill him.
The person did not mention any reason behind his threat, said the lawyer.
Mohammadpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad confirmed that a lawyer filed a general diary on Tuesday.
The OC said he did not know whether the person was Dr Yunus's lawyer as he did not introduce himself as such.
The police will look into the matter, added the officer.
