4 remanded over 2 ex-Jubo, Chhatra League leaders' murder in Lakshmipur

They were shot dead on Tuesday

A Lakshmipur court on Friday four people on four-day remand each in a case filed over the killing of former district Jubo League leader Abdullah Al Noman and Chhatra League leader Rakib Imam.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Victoria Chakma passed the order as police sought a seven-day remand, said Belayet Hossain, investigation officer of the case.

The four people who were placed on remand are Ismail Hossain Patwari, hailed from Boshikpur village, Md Sobuj, resident at Nandigram village, Monir Hossain Rubel, an inhabitant at Dattapara village and Azizul Islam Babul came from Nandigram village.

On Tuesday (April 25), former Jubo League leader Abdullah Al Mamun and Chhatra League leader Rakib Imam were shot dead at Nagerhat in the district.

Following the murder Noman's brother chairman Mahfujur Rahman filed a case accusing 33 people the next day.
