A Dhaka court on Sunday ordered Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to further probe into the case filed over the death of Buet student Fardin Noor Parash in November last year.
Metropolitan Magistrate Shanto Islam Mallik passed the order after Fardin's father, also the plaintiff of the case, filed a no-confidence petition against the Detective Branch's (DB) report that cleared Amatullah Bushra's name from the murder charges.
CID has been ordered to submit a report by May 24, said the plaintiff's lawyer Prakash Ranjan Biswas.
In the petition, the victim's father Kazi Nooruddin, sought further probe alleging that the case was not investigated properly.
On March 16 this year, Amatullah Bushra secured permanent bail in the murder case.
Police on November 10, 2022, arrested Bushra from her Rampura flat and produced her before the court, pleading to place her on seven-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan had placed her on five-day remand on that day.
Buet) student Fardin went missing on November 5 and his body was found in the Shitalakshya River on November 7, 2022.
