The High Court on Thursday granted bail to Sohel Rana, the owner of Rana Plaza, in a murder case filed against him.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Akram Hossain Chowdhury and JJustice Shahed Nuruddin passed the verdict after hearing Sohel Rana's application.
Sohel Rana's lawyers said that there is no longer any obstacle to his release.
On April 24, 2013, over 1,100 RMG workers were killed when the 10-storey Rana Plaza building adjacent to the Savar bus stand collapsed. Thousands of other workers were injured.
Five days after this incident, RAB arrested building owner Sohel Rana, as he attempted to flee to India.
Later, a case was filed against him along with the owners of various factories in that building.
