The High Court on Monday sought an update from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over the investigations into two complaints against Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) Managing Director (MD) Taqsem A Khan's 14 houses in the US.

The High Court asked the ACC to file a progress report within 15 days, reports Bangla Tribune.

A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat Lizu passed the order following a report published in a Bangla daily on Monday.

Earlier on Monday, the Bangla daily published a news report that said that Taqsem bought 14 houses in the US. All the houses will cost thousands of crores of taka.

The report alleged that the Wasa MD embezzled money from Bangladesh to buy the houses. Several intelligence agencies including Interpol have started investigations into the matter.
