The High Court has ruled that journalists are not obliged to reveal confidential sources to anyone.
In the full 51-page verdict of State vs Anti-Corruption Commission published on Sunday, the bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo observed that the law and the constitution allowed the media and journalists to report against corruption and the corrupt in the public interest.
After reviewing the hearings, it was evident that journalists were not required to reveal the source of their information to anyone, the court said.
