The High Court has sought a detailed report on how goods seized across Bangladesh have been kept or stored at police stations and court premises.

A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order on Tuesday.

Law secretary, home secretary, inspector general of police, and others concerned were asked to respond to the rule within four weeks.

The court also directed the IGP to submit a full report on the matter within the next 6 months.

At the same time, a rule was issued seeking to know why improper storage of seized goods should not be declared illegal.
