Daily Jugantor’s Md Anwarul Kabir Babul and Daily Ittefaq’s Rubel Hawlader have been elected as president and general secretary of the Dhaka Court Reporters’ Association (CRA) for the 2022-2023 term.
The CRA election was held on the premises of the District and Sessions Judge Court in Dhaka on Thursday.
Alokito Bangladesh journalist Raihan Morshed has been elected as the senior vice president and NTV online journalist Shubhra Sinha Roy as vice president of the organization.
Daily Punorutthan’s Mahbub Hasan Rana has been elected as the treasurer while Dhaka Tribune’s Md Sanaul Islam Tipu as the senior assistant general secretary.
Among others, Daily Jatio Arthonitee journo Muhammad Mizanur Rahman has been voted in as the assistant general secretary while Daily Ajkersanbad journalist Md Azizur Rahman Shah as office and publicity secretary.
The new executive committee will include Mohammad Wahidun Nabi Biplab of Daily Mukta Khabar, Md Robiul Islam Robi of Daily New Age, Md Hafiz Uddin of Daily Amerkagoj, Shah Alam Shohugh of Daily Sonali Barta and KM Khairul Kabir of Daily Amer Sangbad.
Advocate Md Mosleh Uddin Jasim, the chief election commissioner, announced the results at the association’s office in the afternoon.
Election commissioners Advocate Md Nazrul Islam Sarder and Advocate Md Asaduzzaman Khan Rachi were also present.
