Hearing on Rajuk appeal against Hatirjheel judgment June 27

The apex court upheld for the time being, the four-point directions and nine-point recommendations made at by High Court

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court is likely to hear a petition filed by Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) on June 27 against the High Court judgment, declaring all the commercial infrastructures in Hatirjheel area, illegal.

Justice M Enayetur Rahim of Appellate Division Chamber Judge Court sent the matter to apex court full bench and set the date of hearing.

The apex court upheld for the time being, the four-point directions and nine-point recommendations made at the High Court judgment.

The High Court on May 24, 2022, released the full text of its judgement passed on June 30, 2021. The High Court in its order said the water and the aesthetic beauty of Hatirjheel are invaluable resources and none should be allowed to spoil those.
