A tribunal on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant against singer Elias Hossain in a case lodged by his estranged wife Shah Humayra Hossain Subah allegedly for torturing her for dowry.
Dhaka’s Seventh Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal passed the order, canceling Elias's bail in the case.
Actor Subah filed the case with Banani police station on January 3.
On March 2, the tribunal adjourned the hearing of the case till Tuesday, allowing a time plea of the counsel of Elias. But the accused remained absent on Tuesday, on the ground of health.
