A Sunamganj court on Sunday granted seven-day remand to all the three accused arrested over slicing the body of a woman after raping her in a pharmacy.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) filed a 10-day remand with the court of Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Abdur Rahim.
Court Inspector Mohammad Badar Alam Talukder confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
The arrestees are pharmacy owner Jitesh Chandra Gope, 30, Anjit Chandra Gope, 38, and Ashit Gope, 36.
Earlier, the CID arrested Jitesh Gop, owner of Ovi Medical Hall, from the capital, and his two associates Anjit and Ashit from Jagannathpur municipality area in Sunamganj.
On Saturday, the accused confessed to killing the 35-year-old woman, who is the wife of an expatriate and mother of three children, the CID said at a press conference in Dhaka.
On Thursday, six body parts were recovered from Ovi Medical Hall pharmacy.
The same day, a case was filed with Jagannathpur police against Jitesh following a complaint lodged by the brother of the victim.
According to the statement of the accused, the woman had a good relationship with Jitesh as she used to buy most of her family’s medicines from his pharmacy.
On Wednesday afternoon, she went to the pharmacy as he assured her of suggesting some medicines for her personal medical issues.
At that time, the accused raped her by making her unconscious and strangled her to death when she threatened to inform her family.
Later, they sliced her body into six pieces and packed them in boxes.
