A Dhaka court on Wednesday sent model Faria Mahabub Piasha to jail, after rejecting the police’s remand petition in two narcotics cases.
Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah passed the order after Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials produced her before it.
CID had sought 10 more days to grill her in the two cases filed with Gulshan and Bhatara police stations.
At the same time, Piasha’s lawyers submitted petitions seeking bail for her and rejection of police’s remand prayers.

The court rejected both the pleas after a hearing and sent her to jail.
On August 1, the Detective Branch of police had arrested models Piasha and Marium Akter Mou from different parts of Dhaka on charges of blackmailing people with objectionable photos.
Later, narcotics cases were filed against the two over drugs and liquor recovered from their residences.
Since then, both women were on police remand twice.
