A husband has committed suicide by stabbing himself in the stomach after failing to get his wife and child back even after filing a petition in court.
The deceased was identified as Hafizur Rahman, 28, son of Nur Miah of Kamrapur area in Habiganj town.
The incident took place on the ground floor of Habiganj court premises on Monday afternoon.
Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital for autopsy.
Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Daus Mohammad, quoting the family of the deceased, said that Bushra Begum, daughter of Abdul Khaleq of Khagaura village in Baniachang upazila, got married to Hafizur Rahman about two years ago and they had a baby boy.
They had been living in Sultan Mahmudpur area in order to earn a livelihood.
Recently, they started having frequent conflicts over various family issues.

A few days ago, Bushra went to her father’s house along with her child.
Later, Hafizur went to his father-in-law's house a number of times to bring them back, but did not succeed.
At one stage, Hafizul Islam filed a rescue case under Section 100 in the Magistrate's Court.
Following Bushra’s statement during a hearing of the case on Monday, Habiganj Magistrate's Court 1 decided to have Bushra kept in her mother Khudeja Begum’s care.
Enraged, Hafizur then came to the ground floor of the court premises and stabbed himself in the abdomen with a knife.
Onlookers to the tragic scene took him to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital, where on-duty doctor Dr Mithun Roy pronounced him dead.
Hundreds of people gathered at the hospital area and police station premises when the news of the incident spread.
Inspector (Investigation) Daus Mohammad said that the police were investigating the matter. After investigation, it would be known whether there was any other reason behind the incident.
