A Joypurhat court has sentenced five accused to death for killing a two-and-a-half-year-old child in Panchbibi upazila after kidnapping her.
Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Md Rustam Ali pronounced the verdict on Monday.
The court also fined the convicts Tk5 to 3 lakh under different sections.
The condemned convicts are Uttam Kumar Sarker, 29, Biren Chandra Barman Biresh, 38, Sontesh Sarker Teplu, 28, Mostafizur Rahman Rabbu, 38, and Obaidul Islam, 26.
According to the case statement, the convicts killed Aradha on December 12, 2015, after kidnapping her.
Later, the victim's father Poresh Chandra Barman filed the murder case.
