The High Court has handed over two accused to police on charges of submitting fraud bail petition before it.
The bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Md Riaz Uddin Khan on Wednesday also directed the Shahbagh police station to lodge a forgery case against the two.
Jamal Uddin and Kamal Uddin, residents of Chakaria in Cox's Bazar, were sued in two cases filed for murder attempt.
Assistant Attorney General Shahin Mridha notified the court about the forgery during the hearing of bail petition filed by Jamal and Kamal.
He said the two accused secured two weeks' bail from another High Court bench on February 24 and according to the High Court order, they were supposed to surrender to the lower court after two weeks.
But they did not do so and concealing information about the previous bail, they filed fresh petitions seeking bail with this High Court bench by the same lawyer, Shahin Mridha added.
After hearing from the state, the bench issued a show cause notice to Advocate Zulfiqure Ali Zunu, asking him to explain within one week that why he has done so being aware fully of the status of his clients.
