The High Court has directed the law enforcement agencies to provide necessary security to a Rajshahi girl who was allegedly sexually harassed by her school teacher.
The court also asked authorities concerned to immediately take legal action and suspend the alleged teacher Md Durul Huda, until the allegations against him has been disposed off.
The bench of Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif and Justice Md Mahmud Hasan Talukder issued the rule with directives passed after hearing a writ filed in this regard on Thursday.
Advocate Muhammad Mijanur Rahman stood for the writ filed by Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Zubaida Gulshan Ara.
On October 16, 2019, Md Durul Huda sexually harassed the girl in a store room when he went to her place to give tuitions.
Later on October 20, the girl's mother filed a case against the teacher with Motihar police station in Rajshahi.
Police initially arrested Md Durul Huda. However, he got bail on December 12, 2019 and continued to work at the school.
Meanwhile, the girl was unable to attend the school due to security issues.
