The Supreme Court has upheld a High Court order to confiscate the bank accounts and passports of 20 people, including those of Proshanta Kumar Halder, former managing director, NRB Global Bank and Reliance Finance Limited.
The appellate division bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order on Monday after hearing an appeal petition filed against the High Court order.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam represented the state.
Earlier, on 21 January, the High Court ordered the confiscation of the bank accounts and passports of Proshanta Kumar Halder and 19 others.
The single High Court bench of Justice Mohammad Khurshid Alam issued the order following a hearing in the case filed by two investors in this regard.
