The Appellate Division also gave some observations on the matter after hearing the appeal filed by the state

Update : 09 Feb 2020, 03:51 PM

The Supreme Court has asked the authorities concerned not to appoint any employee permanently from government projects.

The seven member bench of the Appellate Division, headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, on Sunday gave the directive scrapping the High Court order it had passed earlier.

The Appellate Division also gave some observations on the matter after hearing the appeal filed by the state.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam represented the state.

The attorney general said Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) appointed many employees for its different projects. After completion of those projects, as many as 450 employees filed writs with the High Court seeking their inclusion in the revenue sector.

The High Court had passed an order in their favour and the government later filed an appeal against the order, he said.
