The US-Bangla Airlines cabin crew Rokeya Sheikh Moushumi has given confessional statement to a Dhaka court on her involvement in smuggling gold into the country.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain recorded her statement on Monday as she was produced before the court after the expiry of a two-day police remand.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Mahmudur Rahman, general recording officer (GRO) of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
The court sent her to jail after recording the statement, he said.

Earlier on September 6, another Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court placed the cabin crew on two days' remand under police custody following a 10-day remand petition submitted by Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, and Airport police station SI Shafikul Islam.
Rokeya Sheikh was detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on September 5 after she arrived on a US-Bangla flight from Muscat, Oman.
The Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) recovered 82 gold bars from her possession.
