The High Court has directed National Bureau of Revenue (NBR) to submit, by October 14, the tax-related documents of freight forwarding company GBX Logistics.
The High Court bench of Justices Farah Mahbub and S M Moniruzzaman has passed the order on Thursday after hearing a writ petition, filed by Supreme Court lawyer Monjur Nahid, in this regard.
According to the writ, a recent newspaper report claimed that GBX Logistics Ltd filed their income tax return citing Tk12.12 crore as income tax. However, an NBR investigation found Tk366.643 crore to the company’s income for the respective year, and as per the income, the annual income tax is Tk56.438 crore.
According to company officials, GBX Logistics Ltd is worldwide freight forwarding and cargo handling company.
