A Dhaka court has granted bail to Tasvirul Islam, one of the owners of Banani's FR Tower, in a case filed over design forgery of the building.
Dhaka Senior Special Judge Court Judge KM Imrul Kayes passed the order on Monday.
The court granted him bail till August 29.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced the accused before the court in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, lawyer of the accused Ehsanul Haq Samaji submitted a bail petition while Public Prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajal opposed the petition.

After the hearing, the court granted bail to Tasvirul considering his physical condition and age.
The ACC arrested Tasvirul Islam from Segunbagicha area in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
Tasvirul is also the managing director of Quasem Drycells Ltd.
Around 25 people were killed and 73 others injured in the massive fire that broke out in the FR Tower on March 27.
Earlier on June 25, the ACC filed two cases against 23 people, including FR Tower owners and two chairmen of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk), for their alleged involvement in illegally extending the tower beyond the permitted number of floors.
On July 30, the commission arrested Rajuk Assistant Director Shah Md Badrul Alam in the case.
