The High Court does not like extrajudicial killings, the bench of Justices FRM Nazmul Ahasan and KM Kamrul Kader has said.

They made the comment while observing the progress of Barguna youth Rifat Sharif's murder case on Thursday.

Rifat was killed in front of his wife in broad daylight by a group of men led by Sabbir Ahmed Nayan alias Nayan Bond, near Barguna Government College in the district town on June 26.

Subsequently, Nayan was killed in a reported "gunfight" with police in Barguna on Tuesday.

The High Court bench further said: "Nayan Bond, the alleged killer of Rifat, was not made a killer in a day. He was brought up and made into a criminal."
