The High Court on Monday issued a summons to Fifth Additional Metropolitan Session Court Judge Muhammad Nurul Amin Biplob for not completing a murder case trial even after 21 years.

A High Court bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on Monday after hearing a bail petition filed by Hematet, the main accused in the case.

The bench ordered the judge to come to court on May 8 with all pertinent documents, as the case has been on trial with Nurul’s court, which he now oversees.

Advocate Abdur Rashid Miah Badsha stood for the bail petitioner and Assistant Attorney General Yusuf Mahmud Morshed represented the state.

Hemayet was accused for the 1998 murder of Hazrat Ali. A case was filed on March 16, 1998 and the charge sheet was issued on August 8, 2004.
