A Dhaka court has set May 21 to submit a probe report in a case lodged over the death of Bangladesh University of Professionals student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury who was run over by a Suprabhat Paribahan bus.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Debdas Chandra Adhikari reset the date because investigation officer Qazi Shariful Islam failed to submit the report on Tuesday, reports BSS.
Abrar was run over by a Suprabhat Paribahan bus in Pragati Swarani area on the morning of March 19, as he was trying to cross the road.

It was later learned that the same bus driver had struck another pedestrian with his bus — leaving her seriously injured — right before crushing Abrar, as the driver was trying to flee the scene after the first incident.
Abrar’s father, Retired Brigadier General Arif Ahammed Chowdhury, filed a case against the bus driver, its helper, conductor, and the owner of the bus with Gulshan police station.
The four accused — bus owner Nani Gopal, driver Sirajul Islam, helper Ibrahim Hossain, and conductor Yasir Arafat — have already been arrested and gave confessional statements in the case.
